Traveling to Punta Cana

The Airport

Travel to Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). There are direct flights available from Europe and the United States (NY, NJ, NC and FL).

Tourist Card

To enter the Dominican Republic, a valid passport is required. If you are not a Dominican citizen, you’ll have to purchase a 30-day tourist card (US$10 cash fee) at the customs and immigration desk instead of a visa. By Dominican law, there’s also a US$20 departure tax, which is usually included in your airfare (verify with your carrier).

Transportation from Airport to Hotel

Taxis are available at the airport's arrival area. However, it is more economical and convenient to purchase a "Transfer" from the agency you book your flight from. See taxi rates here.
